Woodwind Recording for Clients

I play and record saxophone and flute, and contract musicians for trumpet, trombone, etc.

Alto solo a minute and a half into this joyful track.

A fun funk solo on this Bill Withers cover featuring members of Take 6.

The client asked for moody and atmospheric tenor sax behind and between the vocal on his original song. I set up a room reverb, high in the mix with very little pre-delay, so the horn sounds distant and wistful.

I was asked to transcribe and extend Wayne Shorter’s iconic soprano sax solo on Don Henley’s “End of The Innocence” for this client’s track.

After the end of my alto solo here, I did a horn section arrangement to add some fire to this client’s original. Multitracked alto and tenor saxes, a synthesized baritone sax and trumpet section round this out.

A re-recording for this client’s funky version of Hall and Oates’s hit. Attention to detail is important! The original recording used two different takes, panned differently and with very different mic placement, so that’s what I did!

A short flute solo from a larger arrangement I did for metal band and orchestra.

I arranged and recorded this flute choir for this haunting Tears for Fears cover.

I was asked to transcribe Dave Koz’s solo from the original Bobby Caldwell track and get the vibe as close to the original as I could. I also recorded Ryan Resky’s trumpet and mixed the horns to nail the original’s super bright vibe.
